One Simple Question Changed Everything
In 1993, Dymon founders Edward S. Rose and Raymond G. Wiles asked a simple question:
“What if industrial workers had a powerful hand cleaner they could take anywhere?”
Designed specifically for industrial professionals, SCRUBS® combines powerful cleaning performance with the convenience of a portable, premoistened towel. It quickly gained attention across multiple industries because it solved a simple problem: workers no longer needed a sink to clean up after the toughest jobs.
Even the name SCRUBS® came directly from the towel itself, inspired by its innovative dual-texture design. The abrasive scrubbing side tackled the toughest soils, while the smooth side finished the job, giving workers a level of cleaning performance they couldn’t find anywhere else.
By 1997, SCRUBS In-A-Bucket® earned its first patent, validating an entirely new approach to industrial cleaning. Around the same time, the brand built recognition throughout the industrial market by sponsoring F-1 and NASCAR vehicles, putting SCRUBS® in front of the professionals who would come to rely on it every day.
In 1998, SCRUBS® became part of the ITW family, laying out the foundation for what is now ITW Pro Brands. Backed by the manufacturing expertise, innovation, and global resources of Illinois Tool Works, SCRUBS® has continued to evolve while preserving the trusted formula and industrial strength performance workers have relied on since 1993.
As demand grew, so did the brand. In 2009, the complete family of premoistened wipes was unified under the SCRUBS® name, building on the strength and recognition of The Original Waterless Cleaning Towel™. Today, the portfolio continues to expand with refreshed branding that makes products easier to identify and innovative new formats like the On-The-Go Flow Pack, all while staying true to the industrial strength performance that started it all.
